Let’s go back in time!

The entire journey from the scratch to being a renowned personality was not a bed of roses. He started off from being a fashion designer in Bengali section of the indian fashion industry. Slowly and gradually he made a place for himself not only in the fashion industry but also in the hearts of many people. Today, every other bride’s dream is to wear lehengas, sarees and gowns designed by him. He went abroad after the completion of his graduation and pursued internships back in 2001 under one of the most famed international fashion designers ‘Georgina Von Etzdorf’.After coming back he started working under the leading fashion brands.

When did Sabyasachi Mukherjee debut for the very first time?

His debut work in Indian Fashion industry was in 2002 in India Fashion Week. The response was powerful enough to fuel the engine of his career in the Indian Fashion World. He liked experimenting around with colours and trends which we could see in most of his collections such as ‘Kora’,’The Frog Princess’,’Nair sisters’,etc.

Bridal wear in the air!

Be it spring-summer collections or extravagant collections specially designed for a celebrity, he left no stones unturned to stun people and show the world that the class is not in the cloth but in the confidence of the person who wears it. He sets trends and leads a path that is parallel to the traditional dressing norms set up by the society. One of the examples is bridal wear which is loved the most by the people. Green, peach, golden and every other colour you would not expect in a typical bridal lehenga.

When we see an Indian wedding, we usually see the reds and pinks and maybe some shades of orange too! But some brides wish to go for something that not all would think of. One such bride is Payal who chose Sabyasachi’s lehenga for her wedding to add an desi flavor to the videshi wedding.

As we can see the pinch of golden colour in this entire green brocade lehenga is bringing out her look even more beautifully. Many such fabrics and their usage is also taught at RKAAD’s fashion designing course.

Some of his contributions

Be it Bollywood or Hollywood, his work has its imprints in almost every renowned person. Recently Deepika Padukone wore a Sabyasachi lehenga for her wedding. He has also designed the outfits for many Bollywood movies like Raavan, Laga Chunari Mein Daag, Guzaarish, Paa etc. In most of the outfits designed by him, we can spot a tint of royalty represented by the touch of golden colour that makes the colors glow more. His works are not restricted by the stereotypical representation of beautiful clothing that is also what makes him different.
